Title: CHAMPS Male Health Screenings
Description: The tenth Annual CHAMPS event is rapidly approaching – September 19, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Any male, 18 years or older, regardless of insurance status can get a comprehensive physical for free by attending this event. It is a $2,000+ medical exam that includes three cancer screenings, vital signs, dental and podiatry components.
Last year 41% of the attendees had insurance but do not get medical care in the traditional manner –seeing their doctor!.
We are collecting longitudinal data to see if we can come up with reasons for delaying medical care for the insured and uninsured, demographic, health status.
MY REQUEST: Please distribute these electronic posters to your friends, neighbors, community organizations, employers, employees. I am asking you to get help CHAMPS get the word out about this valuable community service.
CHAMPS is a 501c3 organization and raises its funds through local businesses and the community.
To help in follow up care representatives from the Ga. Dept of Veterans Service, Atlanta VA, Department of Community Health, Georgia Free Clinics Network and other agencies and organizations will be present to help with follow up guidance.
