LaQuan McKnight is a singer and songwriter who has a passion for delivering a soft melody that’s guaranteed to enchant you. She has been singing since the age of five. Some of her influences are
Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Shirley Murdock, and Yolanda Adams just to name a few. Throughout her life she was lived in several states including Georgia, Maryland, and South Carolina; however North Carolina is where she calls home. In 2003 she relocated with her family to Georgia looking for a fresh start and new opportunity.
Through her musical journey she has achieved great accomplishments, and has performed for large crowds both Gospel and R&B. Some of her accomplishments include singing the national anthem for the United Way Walk in Greensboro, NC in 2002. In 1996 she a part of the Uptown Christmas Tree Lighting, Charlotte, NC and in 1998 performed for the Lott Carey National Baptist Convention. This performance included several dignitaries from around the Nation. Most recently she began to aggressively pursue her solo career. She has been writing new material and dedicating long hours in the studio. Her mission is to deliver passion, sing from the soul, and to enchant your heart.
Her new single is about the independent woman. She expresses her and many other women’s ability to be independent. She says to many of her friends “Want a man, but don’t need him in order to survive. You should be able to pay the mortgage if he is out of work”. Although, her first single may be for the club you can expect to hear enchanting ballads, jazzy love tones, and inspirational songs from her in the near future.
